The Indian Arts and Crafts Board (IACB), U.S. Department of the Interior promotes the economic development of federally recognized Alaska Natives and American Indians (Indians) through the expansion of the Indian art and craft market. The Indian Arts and Crafts Board (IACB), U.S. Department of the Interior promotes the economic development of federally recognized Alaska Natives and American Indians (Indians) through the expansion of the Indian art and craft market. The IACB provides promotional opportunities and general business advice to Indian artists, artisans, and cultural organizations of federally recognized Tribes. Additionally, the IACB operates three Indian museums in the Plains Region, conducts promotional museum exhibition programs, and produces a Source Directory of Indian owned arts businesses. The IACB also enforces the Indian Arts and Crafts Act (Act), a truth in marketing law. Under the Act, it is unlawful to offer or display for sale, or sell, any art or craft product misrepresented as Indian produced, an Indian product, or the product of a particular Indian or Indian tribe.
