​Do you love ghost stories, true crime, and Alaskan folklore? Are you passionate about history and love sharing it with others? Join American Ghost Walks as a Haunted History Guide and lead guests through the eerie streets and haunted hotspots of Ketchikan!

Position: Part-Time Haunted History Tour Guide

Location: Downtown Ketchikan, Alaska

Pay: $25–$75 per hour + tips

Who You Are:

  • A charismatic storyteller who can captivate an audience with history, legends, and lore

  • Comfortable speaking in front of groups (20–30 people typical)

  • Enthusiastic about Southeast Alaska’s colorful past: from Gold Rush mysteries to Tlingit legends like the Kushtaka

  • Professional, punctual, and customer service-oriented

  • Able to walk and stand for extended periods in varying weather (it’s Ketchikan – expect rain!)

  • Willing to learn our provided scripts — then bring your own personality to the role!

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead a two-hour haunted history walking tour along Ketchikan’s historic waterfront, Creek Street, and other paranormal hotspots

  • Share tales of ghosts, strange disappearances, legendary creatures, and haunted places, based on real historical accounts and local lore

  • Provide a fun, informative, and safe experience for cruise guests and visitors

  • Represent American Ghost Walks with energy, friendliness, and professionalism
    ​

Requirements:

  • Must be 18+

  • Flexible availability, especially afternoons, evenings, and weekends during cruise season (May–September)

  • Prior acting, storytelling, or tour guide experience a plus, but not required

  • Must be comfortable using a microphone and portable speaker

  • Must have reliable transportation to downtown Ketchikan
