How to make the most of your time

Even a short visit to Ketchikan, during a port call or layover en route to another destination, provides opportunities to sample our wonderful array of activities.

Guided Tours and Activities

Let the local experts help make the most of your available time. Most tours and attractions can be enjoyed in four hours or less. There are dozens of sightseeing tours that can provide an overview of our community- or choose to focus on just one aspect that intrigues you. Researching ahead of time will help you narrow down your personal interests and advance booking will ensure your chosen activity is available.

Self Guided options

Pick up the official Ketchikan Walking Tour map at the Ketchikan Visitors Bureau’s visitor information centers. Starting from downtown follow the numbered signs posted along two routes offered to learn about the history and culture of our community. Routes can be walked in as little as 60 minutes, but plan extra time to appreciate the sights and for entering attractions or shops along the way. Bike and vehicle rentals are another way to get out and about during your visit.
