Got a day to play?
Ketchikan is not a sprawling metropolis—far from it! So even if you have just a short time to explore, you can still leave with a sense that you’ve experienced a true slice of life here in Southeast Alaska!
We’d love to show you around!
We offer dozens of guided sightseeing tours—via boat, bus or bush plane—all of which will give you a comprehensive overview of our community. Sit back, enjoy the sights, and let us do the talking. Your local tour guide will point out all the highlights, answer questions, and then stop talking so you can take some pictures and enjoy the beauty that surrounds you. Note: Most tours and attractions can be enjoyed in four hours or less.
For those who like to explore on their own...
If you’re the more meandering type, pick up a copy of our “Ketchikan Walking Tour” map (available free at one of our Visitors Information Centers) and set out to see the sights. You’ll learn about the history and culture of our community and have the freedom to pop into any one of the many attractions, shops or eating establishments along the way. Routes can be walked in as little as 60 minutes, but be sure to give yourself some extra time to appreciate the sights. Note: Bike and vehicle rentals are another way to get out and about during your visit.
